  • Online Courses

I got involved in online learning about a year ago as a teacher. I'm actually more of a technical guy, but in my company everyone wears lots of different hats. In this case, we had a training video for some of our offices. You see, it was necessary for a lot of our people to learn Spanish online.

We work with so many Hispanic clients that knowing a little bit of conversational Spanish is simply indispensable in this area. My job was to make an online learning course that would teach them the basics.

It was just my kind of project. It combined a little bit of this and that into what was actually a fairly technologically sophisticated undertaking. I needed to up my knowledge of Spanish, my ability to integrate web cams and interactive software, and sophisticated PowerPoint presentations.

It took me several months, but it was worth it. I was pleased by how well the project turned out, and the big bonus I got for completing it didn't hurt either.

It also got me interested in taking online learning courses myself. I have a friend recently got an MBA online and I had never really thought much about her program until I got involved in designing my own online education program. After that, I realized that you can learn practically anything over the Internet. I started to do some investigation myself.

I don't really need any more certification. I have all the degrees and titles I need for my job. I simply wanted to take online courses in something that interested me. I got involved in an online philosophy group where, for a small fee, a local expert leads a group discussion over web cam once a week.

It has been very educational and I have even met some interesting people on it. All in all, online learning has been a good experience so far. I would not say it's for everyone – some people really need to be face-to-face in order to get the most out of an educational experience. Nonetheless, it seems to work well for me and for most of the people in my company. If you've never tried it, you should give it a shot.

Usually the technology is pretty straightforward and easy to use, and it allows you to go at your own pace in your spare time. All in all, online learning is a pretty winning combination of convenience and content.

  • My Experience With Online Law School

I had been wanting to go to law school for years, but hadn't been able to due to health problems. I had serious arthritis, diabetes, and a variety of complications. I knew that law schools required hours and hours of sitting in lecture, late nights of studying, and other activities that were stressful to the body.

I had basically given up on the idea of getting a legal degree when one of my friends told me about online law schools.

I had never really heard of an online law school before, and was naturally curious. Was an online legal degree really legitimate, or was it just the way to take advantage of people like me who can't get a law degree through the usual means.

I was so surprised with what I was able to find out. I found out that there are many successful lawyers out there who trained through an online law school. I positively saw it as an opportunity or a way for me to make my dream happen.

From the moment I got into it, I knew that getting an online law degree would be difficult. You see, and online law school is a mixed bag. On the one hand, you get to set your own hours and work around your own schedule. On the other hand, you have to be extremely self disciplined.

With the more typical course of legal study, you have professors on you to meet your deadlines all the time. With an online law school, however, no one is responsible for your work but you. It might be a little bit less intensive, but it requires an iron will nonetheless.

One of the things I was worried about with online law schools was getting a hold of all the legal information that I would need. I knew that law school reports were intensive, and required access to reams and reams of case file history. Most law schools have their own libraries with that sort of information, but I had no idea how I would access it at a law school online. I need not have worried.

There are plenty of legal resources for lawyers who operate over the Internet. There are legal document databases, sophisticated search engines for professionals, and other proprietary and public access source of information. It cost a little bit of money, but not anymore than say, a textbook or school supplies. All in all, it proved to be a very workable proposition. In a few years, I had graduated from the online law school and was on my way to becoming an attorney.

  • Engineering Degrees Online – How To Choose An Engineering Degree Online

Choosing the right vehicle for education is just as important as choosing the right career. If this sounds a little strange then consider if the learning environment is suspect, how will this impact on your ability to gain a degree worth the paper it's written on?

An online engineering degree is one where the learning environment needs to be extremely proficient. Engineering is a profession continuing to grow in stature and one of the good things about this is you have the ability to branch off and choose a specialized area.

With the reputation of some online learning facilities under scrutiny, spending some time in this selection phase is a good idea. In the meantime, decide what area of engineering you want to pursue. There are many to choose from and with engineering types in good demand, the prospects of getting a running start in your employment career later on are bright.

Engineering degrees online have grown in popularity with the growth of the internet. Many adults now have the opportunity to re-visit education on a more personal level and learning and earning a degree online gives them this opportunity.

    Engineering Levels

Almost any entry-level engineering career will require a Bachelor’s degree, but an online engineering degree can be a Master’s degree as well, or even a Doctorate. However, the majority of distance learning colleges focus on graduate degrees in engineering, as most of the hands-on education is performed during undergraduate studies.

There are also certificates available in very specialized, very advanced fields, including aerospace engineering, automotive engineering, agricultural engineering, petroleum engineering, ocean engineering, biomedical engineering, mining engineering, nuclear engineering and environmental engineering. In fact, there is probably an online engineering degree available for any engineering dream imaginable.

Engineering is divided into two main branches that include civil engineering and materials engineering, where engineers work with anything from polymers to metals. The other specializations fall underneath these two categories.

For example, aerospace engineers design aircraft, while computer engineers work with software and hardware. With an online engineering degree, engineers can even work in management or as engineering inspectors. Job growth in the field of engineering is expected to continue upward through at least 2014.

Consequently, there has never been a better time to consider an degree in engineering online for those individuals who are math and science minded. Starting salaries range from $43,000 to $85,000, and there are well over one million engineers working around the world on any number of varied projects.

The government alone funds countless engineering projects, spending almost one billion dollars annually just as nanotechnological research, development and application, the true stuff of science fiction.

  • Online College Accreditation: Insights To Determine The Real From Fakes

The Internet has recently brought forth a new kind of university, one without a geographical center. These colleges offer an education through online lectures, discussions, and assignments.

They are a good option for people without the time and money to spend four years at a college site, but can also turn out to be scams. Before enrolling in an online college, you need to determine whether it is accredited.

    The Accreditation Factor

If a school has been accredited, that means it has been reviewed and certified to teach an academic program and hand out degrees.

If a school is not accredited, it can claim to teach all they like, but you will never receive a real diploma from them. Accreditation ensures that schools are providing a high quality education and a somewhat consistent curriculum for each subject core.

    The Claims of Many

There are many schools claiming to be accredited, but accreditation doesn’t mean anything if it comes from a non-recognized organization.

Any organization stating they are accredited by the IAAOU (International Accreditation Agency for Online Universities), Board of Online Universities (BOUA), World Online Education Accrediting Commission (WOEA), and UCOEA (Universal Council for Online Education Accreditation), are not real universities and will not offer a quality education. Hint: no real accrediting organization has the word "online" in its title.

These so-called "online universities" that claim accreditation from such sources will, at best, provide you a poor education that few respect.

At worst, they will simply sell you a fake diploma. It is illegal in many states to claim you have a degree if all you really own is a diploma from one of these schools.

    Authentic Options

There are real online schools, but legitimate ones are the in the minority. To be a valid, recognized university in the United States, a school must be accredited by an organization that has itself been recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), the U.S. Department of Education (USDE), or both.

There are five main regional accreditors and many smaller organizations recognized by CHEA and USDE. These organizations have lists on their web sites.

    Perception is Important

An online education is not as well respected as attending a physical university with a college campus, but it can be a great option for self-motivated people who need to earn a degree more quickly while they move forward with their lives.

It is not such a good idea to jump into an online education straight out of high school, but is very helpful for those already employed and who want to give their careers a little boost by finally earning that coveted degree.

Make sure the online school you are considering is accredited from a respected institution that has been approved by the CHEA or the USDE. They authenticate the only real schools online that count!

What about a law degree online? Would that be something for you? Let's face the facts; criminals are not going to disappear anytime soon. • Online Degree Programs Are A Test Of Courage

It was difficult choosing between different Online Degree Programs. First I wanted to get my online engineering degree in electrical services but then I decided that it really was not the best choice for me. I have always been good at playing the guitar, so I decided to put my music skills to the test.

I didn't know what to do at first so I consulted my brother Jason to help me pick out a field. He said audio engineering would be a good choice for me because I was always good at creating diverse forms of art. So I took my brother's advice and he sent me on my way.

When I searched online for a good university I stumbled upon the University of Phoenix. "Perfect", I said to myself. Right then and there I knew that this would be the one for me. I mean it had all the best courses a kid my age could ask for, so I took the offer.

My brother is really good when it comes to reading into things. About a year or so ago, Jason completed one of the best Online FNP Programs on the web. He seemed quite confident after completing it. So I guess his confidence had rubbed off on me. In the end, it turned out to be a good thing.

About eight months ago, I finished my course in audio engineering. I must admit, applying for online degree programs can make you quite skeptical at first. But it's not what you're applying for; it's the plan you have to conquer what it is you're applying for.

I look back at all this and I realize what it took to get through the past year. I had to study hard and work two jobs at the same time. I also had to make sure I didn't stay out too late at night because it could ruin my schedule. If your applying for any of the online degree programs on the web make sure you follow your heart and never give up. I hope my story gives you the courage you need to succeed.

If it's not, the degree you get could be worthless. Next comes, the more difficult and fun part: deciding what school you will attend and what courses you'll take.

These schools offer online degree programs in a dizzying variety of subjects. For example, you could tackle Online CRNA Programs, or even something like online degree hypnotherapy courses. Or perhaps you would like to start a career in business, politics or even veterinary medicine. These and more are all possible with online programs.

If you're worried about the reputation of these kinds of places, you might be surprised to learn that some of the most prestigious universities across the country offer these online degree programs now. In addition to the many subjects offered, you can get degrees ranging from an Associate's all the way to a PhD.

If you've been wanting to further your education but have a regular job you work to pay the bills, online course may be the perfect choice for you. With most of these courses, you can learn at your own pace and when it's convenient for you. You might find that you can complete a degree sooner than you could with physical colleges, which dictate when and where to take your courses. However, if you're someone who needs more time, you won't need to feel as if you're being rushed at the pace of someone else.

Regardless of your reasons for pursuing a degree online and the career you're after, you should formulate a plan of action. Research different schools and find the one that offers the courses you'll need for your degree and at a price you're comfortable with. Remember, your future is in your hands.

  • Strategies On How To Pick An Online College Degree Program

You can now earn a college degree online without the need to travel to a college campus option. Online degree programs are often taken by people who have already entered the workforce and don't have the time to attend classes at a university.

    Consideration of Cost and Popularity

Online degrees also tend to be much less expensive than a traditional college experience and take much less time to complete the degree. The trade off is that the quality of education is typically much lower through an online university.

Enrollment in online schools has increased dramatically during the past several years, according to the International Data Corporation. The number of available online colleges is also increasing every year.

    Caution is the Byword

There are many phoney schools, unfortunately, that will gladly take your money and provide you a piece of paper saying it's a degree but is, in fact, just a piece of paper. Be very cautious and thorough in your search for legitimate options.

When selecting one, look first for accreditation. If the school is not accredited by an organization approved by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Dept. of Education, then it is not a valid university and cannot legally offer you a real degree.

Keep an eye out for one that is well respected and doesn't boast about how easy it is to graduate. A good education should be challenging. After all, if you don't learn anything, you're not getting your money's worth. Make sure you choose a school that can provide an education in the exact subjects and major you want to study.

    The Course Load

Most online programs offer a wide array of possible majors, but every school specializes in something different. Try to determine each school's specialty, and then focus on what you need. Read all available literature that you can find on each college that interests you.

When taking online classes, be sure you can arrange your course load around your other life responsibilities. Also ensure you have a speedy Internet connection for your classes and work material.

    Convenience is Appealing

Most universities offer quite a bit of convenience for arranging your schedule around online lectures or discussions. You will definitely have to spend a lot of time studying, so make sure you set aside enough time to keep up with the word load.

An online education should not cost as much as a physical university because they do not need to pay for buildings, and instructors from all over the world can be in the same digital classroom. Shop around for a deal, but don't select the cheapest online school since its quality will almost certainly be much worse.

All-in-all, an online degree can provide you the extra credentials you need to get your career jump started or moving beyond where it is. Most businesses don't care where you received your degree, as long as you have one that is legitimate, accredited, and relevant to your career position.

  • Online Bachelor\'s Degree – Are Online Bachelor Degrees A Scam?

Can you really earn your Bachelor's degree online? Yes, and people are turning to the internet in droves to enhance their educational qualifications as a way to either improve their job prospects or to pick up where they left off when they were younger.

The online environment is attracting almost instant-like gratification in many areas of life and while earning a degree takes time, the convenience factor is hard to ignore. The fact that someone can study from the comfort of their own home without the obvious distraction and intimidation a class setting may present makes it an appealing alternative.

However, there is some due diligence to be conducted on your part before accepting any course. Earning your Bachelor's degree online is one thing; getting it accepted as a legitimate qualification is another and that's what you should only consider accredited schools.

    Are Online Bachelor Degrees Legitimate?

Why would anyone earn their bachelors degree online when they can go to classes? Well, many people don’t have the privilege or time to attend actual classes. They have to earn their bachelors degree online if they hope to better themselves and get a good job. Some of these people include single parents who can’t afford day care for their kids.

There are many reasons why someone would choose to earn a bachelors degree online but you must make sure the bachelors degree you earn online will be accepted by employers.

    Proving Your Bachelor's Is Legitimate

A good way to find out if the online Bachelor's degree you earn will be worth anything is to call a potential employer before you sign up for classes. For instance, let’s say you want to be a nurse. You could call the human resources department at your local hospital to ask if they accept any applicants with online degrees.

If they do, ask what institutions they accept degrees from and apply to that online school. That’s one of the ways to go about finding out if your online degree is worth pursuing. If you’re not sure what career you want to go into, do some research and find out what degrees can be purchased online and make sure the school is accredited before you spend any money; as you wouldn’t want to spend all that money on a degree that wasn’t worth anything.

    • Online Degree Programs In The Information Age

In the age of the Internet, Online Degree Programs are an ideal path for those looking to continue their education. Many of these programs offer degrees that are as good as, or identical to, the ones you would receive attending a physical college or trade school. One of the biggest benefits of online courses is that you're not limited by distance. You can receive these degrees, no matter where you physically reside.

If you're thinking of signing up for one of these online degree programs, there are several things to take into consideration. First, look to see that the school is accredited.
